Data Analytics Developer

Job Summary:

The Data Analytics Developer will collaborate closely with the Revenue Management, Managed Care and , Accounting and Finance teams to develop and implement automated data sources, reports and dashboards in order to meet their strategic needs. This role also collaborates with various vendors and IT team members to offer insight and guidance regarding key applications including EHRs, RCM tools and Accounting applications.

 

Essential Functions:

        The prioritization of all functions listed below will be determined by leadership in Revenue Management, Managed Care and Accounting and Finance in accordance with their needs.

        Identifies business intelligence and data requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems.

        Report and Dashboard Design /Development

        Design Data Quality and Metadata architecture.

        Create, maintain, deploy,  and schedule SSIS packages using SQL server data studio, Management studio and third party ETL tools

        Create Stored Procedures and Functions

        Create  complex SQL queries  from multiple  Data sources

        Create  and monitor ETL Staging Tables

        Data Validation and Testing

        Design, build and deploy BI solutions

        Assisting internal customers with retrieving data from company production systems whenever needed.

        Support Vendors in gathering and analyzing data from New Season Data Warehouses and Data Lakes along with other 3rd Party Applications.

        Audit, modify, and amend data in systems using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import.

        Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements.

        Prepares users by conducting training; providing information; resolving problems.

        Provides information by answering questions and requests.

        Translate business needs to Report specifications

        Maintain and support Data Analytics platforms

        Evaluate and improve existing BI systems

        Develop and update Technical Documentation

        Troubleshoot and correct issues as they arise; ensure system is running smoothly.

        Add new users to the system as needed. Administer server database role and user access rights/permissions

        Plan and coordinate security measures alongside infrastructure administrators.

        Maintain process rigor in the prioritization/implementation/testing of new features to minimize disruption of the production lines

        Coordinates and collaborates with systems developers and vendors as needed

Essential Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

        BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field

        Tableau Certification preferred

Required Knowledge:

        Working knowledge in data modeling.

        Business Analyst experience preferred but not required.

        Working knowledge of data warehouse technologies and solutions

        Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL/Replication/SSIS/OLAP etc.)

        Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)

Experience Required:

        5 years experience with Tableau and/or Power BI

        5 years experience with project management tools and methodologies

        5 years experience in using an IT Service Management tool for incident and request tracking.  

        2 years Experience with DBA productivity tools

        Healthcare and Revenue Management experience is preferred

        Background in data warehouse design

        In-depth understanding of database management systems, online Analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, Transform, load) framework

        Hands on experience with database performance tools (Toad, BMC etc.,)

Skill and Ability:

        Detail oriented with good interpersonal skills and ability to work as an effective team member with a broad array of people from multiple departments

        Very effective troubleshooting skills

        Ability to mullti-task and manage several Reporting Projects

        Ability to learn new technology and software applications quickly without specialized training

        High level of customer service skills, and ability to fluctuate technical communication level to suit users needs

        Ability to analyze technical problems and provide logical and effective solutions

        Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical information from resource manuals

        Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing

        Ability to train end users of varying backgrounds and degrees of specialized understanding

        Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
